Beaches are a peaceful getaway spot in Chennai. But what if the entire city gathers at Marina and Bessy? Not peaceful anymore, right?

A view to stop and stare

Hidden in the northern part of Chennai is this beautiful landscape bulging with boats, boulders and beach. Kasimedu or N4 is an active beach which holds an important harbor of the city. The smell of fresh fishes and colours of waving Indian flags is a moment to cherish.

The dancing clouds at the harbor

With the long peninsula road that stretches into the vast blue sea, the view in every direction is beauty. While bikes and cars are allowed to ride over this road, a leisure walk is the best to savor the view.

The Busy Harbor

On your walk you will find, to your right, a busy harbor full of fisher-folks hastening with fishing nets, beautiful boats sailing in and out of the harbor and if lucky, some shooting scenes (we were lucky enough). We were surprised to see that every boat had a number, exactly like our vehicles.

Boulder Boundaries For The Sea

To the left is a vast blue blanket of sea. The colour of the sea is a perfect sea blue which is not something you would find in Marina or Besant nagar beaches. Giant boulders, that separate the sea and the road, are favourite spots for teens. While some choose to take risky selfies, some sit back and enjoy leisure fishing.

The Line Where The Sky Meets The Sea

A peaceful evening walk made us realise that the N4 is not a regular beach with sand and pebbles but a perfect place to enjoy sunrise and sunsets. Also, don't forget to capture the view when you visit.
